Well today we take a look at a moment from 16 years ago today. Barry Melrose rode Wayne Gretzky to a Stanley Cup Finals berth but the party soon ran out and the Los Angeles Kings had to find a new coach. So they named a guy with a little bit of a Stanley Cup pedigree and a former King to boot.

L.A. Kings named Larry Robinson as their new head coach, the 18th in team history. Robinson replaced Barry Melrose, who had been fired late in the 1994-95 NHL season.
