Today we break out “Brass Bonanza” for our “This Day”. Well no we are not going to do it literally but just hum the song as we reveal our moment. This gem occurred 32 years ago today and a rookie who literally had a hell of a career started to make his impact. One could say, it was a new Howe for a new generation. Hartford Whalers rookie Mark Howe scored the first two goals of his NHL career, and added an assist in a 6-3 win over the visiting Los Angeles Kings. It was first win in franchise history for the Whalers (who later relocated to Carolina).
