This Day In Hockey History (3/6)

Today we have another solid moment from yesteryear on “This Day In Hockey History”.  Here was a trade today that still makes me sick to this very day and what might or might not have been done to get this great player a Stanley Cup.  At any rate, it was a significant moment in history and this one happened 12 years ago today right around the NHL Trade Deadline.  Remember the days of blockbusters?  Yes we do too.  Here is the video first and then the gem.

Boston traded defenseman Ray Bourque and left wing Dave Andreychuk to Colorado for left wing Brian Rolston, defenseman Martin Grenier, center Sammy Pahlsson and the option of either a 2000 or 2001 first-round draft pick.

This Day In Hockey History (3/6)

Sprry we did not have a more glamorous moment today but hey this one was different and a bit forgotten especially for Pittsburgh fans.  Their goalie was a former Sabre one?  Yes it was true.  This moment happened 23 years ago.  Video and moment upcoming….

Buffalo’s Tom Barrasso earned his 13th career shutout (and his final one with the Sabres) while Phil Housley scored his 400th career point in a 3-0 win over the visiting Boston Bruins.
