This Day In Hockey History (2/27)

It is simply Trade Deadline Day today but here is another moment on “This Day”.  This is just one of those days that make you go nuts and more importantly have you on the edge of your seat more for the speculation than anything else.  Now we have a moment today that is a little curious because this player as a GM had some very interesting “Trade Deadline Days”.  At any rate, this gem comes from 24 years ago and does have a little video to accompany it.  Enjoy.

 

 

February 27, 1988


Montreal Captain Bob Gainey scored the only hat trick of his 15 year NHL career to lead the Canadiens to a 6-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets at the Forum. Brian Hayward recorded his fourth career shutout.

This Day In Hockey History (2/27)

Sadly no Fantasy Hockey ONE today but we will do a special recap edition for Monday.  It is the last day for most weeks and it is Trade Deadline Eve.  Time to let the GM’s play.  On this moment today, we went scanning around and found this:

Tomas Vokoun became the first goalie in Nashville Predators history to post back-to-back shutouts, when he got the 9th of his career in a 6-0 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
