Here comes the Thursday edition of This Day In Hockey History. It is time for a nice quick moment from the annuls of hockey history. Milestones are always a good thing and when its a first from a defensemen we all know and love, that makes it that much more special. February 16, 1974
Boston’s Bobby Orr became the first defenseman in NHL history to score 700 career NHL points, when he picked up an assist, in a 5-2 win in Los Angeles. Orr scored his 700th point in his 518th NHL game.
