This Day In Hockey History (2/13)

The week starts all over again and we have a moment hopefully worthy of a Monday on “This Day”.  When you look into the annuls of history, you realize sometimes just how amazing these accomplishmens really are. Today’s is really one above reproach as just think about how rare this achievment would be in today’s NHL.  First, we have the video and then the moment.

 

 

February 13, 1975


Boston’s Bobby Orr recorded an assist to reach the 100 point mark, in a 3-1 Bruins’ loss at Buffalo. Orr became the 2nd NHL player to get 6 100-point seasons, and the first to score 100 points in six consecutive years.

This Day In Hockey History (2/13)

Good morning and hopefully there is not too much bed head amongst you.  Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day but today is time for This Day.  As far as unbeaten goalie streaks go, this one is pretty amazing. Just think there was one better than this.  This one comes to us from 28 years ago.  So give us your thoughts.

 

 

February 13, 1983


Bruin goaltender Pete Peeters extended his unbeaten streak to 26-0-5, the second longest streak in NHL history, with a 3-1 win against Vancouver, at Boston Garden.
