This Day In Hockey History (8/30)

Sorry we were a little late on this today but life is often more important than writing about hockey.  That sounds like crazy talk, I know but it is true.  Today we have an interesting gem to say the least and people often forget that this guy has been a GM for almost half of his entire life.  Talk about your strange but true kind of moment.  Here is the video and the gem.

 

 

August 30, 1982


Washington Capitals named David Poile as their new General Manager, replacing Roger Crozier.  He was the GM in Washington for 15 years before moving on to Nashville.

This Day In Hockey History (8/30)

This guy was indeed a captain of the Montreal Canadiens, long before going AWOL when getting traded.  The moment is from 16 years ago today and here it is.

 

 

August 30, 1994


Montreal Canadiens named Kirk Muller as their new team captain, the 20th in team history. Muller replaced Guy Carbonneau, who had been traded to St. Louis.
