This Day In Hockey History (8/21)

These are the days when the moments are just so few that there seems like there is little hope.  Hoever we did find a pretty decent one in the inbox late this morning.  Now the question is will we complete this post before the rains and thunder come again?  Normally this is a joke but actually with the strange downpours lately, one never knows.  Anyway, this gem comes from 99 years ago.  Yes it is a birthday tribute of sorts.  First we have a special link and then the video and moment.

 

 

August 21, 1912


Hall of Famer Toe Blake born in Victoria Mines, Ont. Blake played in the NHL 1934-35 through 1947-48 with the Montreal Canadiens and the Montreal Maroons.  He also won eight Stanley Cups in 13 years as Coach of the Montreal Canadiens.

Ken Hodge FIGHTS ON!!!!

Boston obtained Ken Hodge, Jr. from the Minnesota North Stars, in exchange for future considerations (Jere Lentinen).
