This Day In Hockey History (8/18)

Well it is another day and today’s moment comes from 34 years ago.  This move again had St. Louis wishing they had not made it in hindsight.  Once again here is that moment from “This Day”.  Remember to tip the guy down in front.

 

 

August 18, 1977


St. Louis Blues traded their 3rd choice in 1979 Amateur Draft to Montreal, in exchange for Jimmy Roberts. The Canadiens used the pick two years later to select Guy Carbonneau.

Toronto Maple Leafs named Doug Gilmour as their new Captain, the 15th in team history. He replaced Wendel Clark (who had been traded to the Quebec Nordiques).
