This Day In Hockey History (8/15)

Today is the Ides Of August.  Yes it is not quite as dramatic as the Ides Of March but under the circumstances, it will do.  It is a short but sweet moment for a man who probably deserved a lot more than the crap he dealt with.  Here is our moment for today.

NY Rangers hired Roger Neilson as their new head coach, replacing Phil Esposito.  Insert white towel here.

To think this guy was a Chicago Blackhawk.  I am trying to figure out how on Earth I forgot about this.  But here is today’s moment from eight years ago.  This is of course, providing I can spell.

Boston Bruins signed free agent defenseman Guy Lapointe, a five time Stanley Cup winner.
