This Day In Hockey History (7/7)

Hopefully we can fix everything on the blog by tonight or tomorrow but since posting still works at least, here is the latest “This Day”.  All that can be said about this one is getting your team to the Stanley Cup Final can still get you fired not too long after.  Here is some video and the moment.

 

 

July 07, 1997


Philadelphia Flyers named Wayne Cashman as their new head coach (the 11th in team history), replacing Terry Murray who was fired a month earlier. Keith Acton was named associate coach.

The moment today happened 13 years ago.   Hey take a team to the Stanley Cup Finals and you get canned?  It has happened before.  Here it goes.
