Today we have a quick moment as we get ready for this afternoon’s hockey then the show of course.  We also have officially brought on Garrett Rees and Matt Juba from fantasyhockey.com to help out a little and give you a taste of what the old FH site was like.  Hell we may even make it better.  At any rate, I will let them introduce themselves formally.  Also, the usual Fantasy Hockey ONE will be done on the show tonight at 8pm ET on Blog Talk Radio’s Fantasy Sports Channel.  Live fantasy updates will take place throughout the afternoon and evening as always.

The moment for today has a touch of humor and sarcasm but nonetheless it is he debut of a goalie who would come and go faster than Haley’s Comet.  Here is that moment brought to you by the Boston Bruins.

January 22, 1995

Bruins’ rookie goalie Blaine Lacher recorded a victory in his NHL debut as the Bruins won 4-1 over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers. Cam Neely led the scoring with a hat trick.

“This Day” occasionally features some of the more odd moments but this one is more quirky than outright odd.  Today we found one from just eight years ago that is quite impressive especially for an “Original Six” franchise.  Toronto would be proud as we pay tribute today to one Mats Sundin.  No, we did not agonize over this decision as it was a rather easy one.  Enjoy the video and moment.

Mats Sundin became the Toronto Maple Leafs all-time leader in game winning goals, when his 64th with the Leafs gave the team a 5-4 win over the New York Rangers. He broke the mark of 63 set by Dave Keon.

Quebec’s Daniel Bouchard became the 23rd goaltender in NHL history to record 200 career victories, when the Nordiques won 9-8 over the visiting Edmonton Oilers.

Its Hump Day!! Time to find a moment that will fit in. Wait this is hockey, that may be kind of difficult but here is that moment at any rate.
