This Day In Hockey History (12/19)

Good morning and welcome to another edition of This Day In Hockey History.  With Christmas fast approaching, it really is time to get into the spirit of giving.  Even for hockey moments, there are definite instances of giving.  However, today we just have a player who seemed to tour the entire NHL (or at least it felt that way).  This moment comes from 14 years ago and as always we have the video first before the little gem.

Michel Petit became the first player in NHL history to score a goal for 9 different teams, when his first goal of the year helped the Phoenix Coyotes to a 6-2 win at Anaheim.

There will be some more goodies later but the baking, cooking, and mass cleaning for Christmas has begun.  This should be fun and result in lots of liquid consumed.  Remember not to do it to excess and now for today’s moment.

Boston’s Ken Linseman and St. Louis’ Doug Gilmour scored goals just two seconds apart in the third period to set an NHL record for fastest two goals in the Blues’ 7-5 win over the Bruins. Gilmour’s came off a center-ice faceoff into an empty net.
