This Day In Hockey History (11/9)

The reality in hockey is the best time does not always win.  All it takes is a few moments in a game to completely change it and in some cases just one or two.  Think about what goes on in a typical hockey game and imagine a team who has mostly dominated the game throughout loses because of that moment or two.  The result is what you see today from yesteryear, as 23 years ago today exactly the same thing happened.  Here is the video and that gem.

When you think of Joe Cool, you think of Joe Sakic.  Here is a milestone he accomplished just ten years ago today.  It may be harder to believe that this happened ten years ago or the mark he tied and the where as well.  Now the moment for “This Day”.

November 09, 2000

Joe Sakic tied the Avalanche franchise mark for career assists, when he picked up his 668th with the team in a 3-3 tie against the St. Louis Blues. Sakic tied the record set by Peter Stastny (when the team was in Quebec City).
