This Day In Hockey History (11/25)

The moment today is truly a crazy one.  How often do you see a game with a high number of goals all scored by specialty teams?  Hmmmm.  This is one that truly was as crazy as the fact that it is now only one month until Christmas.  If you like rivalry games and just a cooky, nutty outcome then this one is for you.  So it is time to take a trip down memory lane from 23 years ago today with a video and then moment as always.

 

 

November 25, 1988


Pittsburgh Penguins beat Washington 5-3 in a game where all eight goals were scored by specialty teams. Pittsburgh had four power play goals and one shorthanded tally, while the Capitals had three power play goals.

New Jersey’s Scott Stevens tied Larry Murphy’s record for most career games played by a defenseman (1,615) in the Devils 4-0 win against the Kings at Los Angeles.
