This Day In Hockey History (11/19)

Here is a running moment on This Day In Hockey History…well sort of.  When you want to end a game fast, sometimes you just have to call Mark Messier.  After a few helpers and the general joy of seeing other players score, Messier thought the game listed below would end best with a goal that happened faster than anyone expected.  It is video and moment time as usual….

 

 

November 19, 1989


Mark Messier had three assists, then scored the winning goal at 0:08 of overtime as Edmonton won 5-4 over the visiting Chicago Blackhawks.

This Day In Hockey History (11/19)

Today this moment is simply for The Rick.  Hey I thought it would be a good moment as well and it happened 29 years ago today.  Well here goes….

 

 

November 19, 1981


Harold Snepsts became the third player in Canucks history to appear in 500 games, as Vancouver defeated Detroit 8-3. Stan Smyl earned his 200th career point in the game, the ninth Canuck to do so.

Hakan Loob indeed……

November 19, 1987


Calgary’s Hakan Loob and Perry Berezan combined to set an NHL record, by scoring shorthanded goals only eight seconds apart when the Flames beat the Quebec Nordiques 9-1.
