Pick The Winner (12/27)

We have just one pick today but more on Twitter tonight.  It will hopefully make you a few dollars as we are just days from 2012.

========================================

PICK THE WINNER:

Winnipeg Jets @ Colorado Avalanche – AVALANCHE TO WIN (-108)

**2 unit play** – (Note: I’m risking 2.16 units to win 2 units)

The Winnipeg Jets went into Christmas break with a 16-14-5 record, but were just 4-8-4 on the road. They were playing outstanding at home, but then went just 3-2-1 in their 6 game home stand before the break, and won just 3 of their last 7 games overall. The Jets seem to be a lot different of a team on the road, allowing 3.56 goals against per game. Colorado picked up right where they left off before the break with a win in Minnesota yesterday in an early game. The Avs won 4-2, pushing their winning streak to 5 games where they have beaten Minnesota, Tampa Bay, St Louis, Philadelphia, and Washington.

The Avalanche have won 8 straight home games, making them to 12-9 at home this season. Note that although the Avs are returning home for a back-to-back they are 1-0 this season in that situation. The Avs are allowing just 1.60 goals against per game over their last 5, while scoring 2.60 per game. JS Giguere is expected to get the nod tonight in net for the Avalanche. He has been the better of the two goalies, with a 8-4 record, 1.79 GAA and .934 SV% this season. Note that the Jets have won just once in their last 8 road games, and dating back they are just 3-8 in their last 11 games playing on 3 or more days rest. Colorado should continue to play solid hockey tonight, and the Jets will continue to struggle on the road. I like the Avs for 2 units at a very short price.

Good luck everyone and keep making those picks…..
