This Day In Hockey History (6/9)

By the way someone put June 8th by accident and I do not know who that was.  Thankfully it was corrected before it went to the world.  Today’s moment had an unexpected goal scorer in it along with a guy who was not quite winning Norris Trophies just yet.  This one happened just 12 years ago today and here it is.

 

 

June 09, 1998


Joey Kocur and Nicklas Lidstrom scored first period goals to give the Red Wings a 2-1 win over the Washington Capitals, in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, in Detroit.
