We are just rolling along here on a Thursday with another moment from hockey yesteryear on “This Day”. So how important was Mike Bossy? It is special to see a gem like this one come across our inbox. Therefore, since I sense a theme that has to do with tons of goals, this seemed just perfect. The milestone today comes from 25 years ago and it was the last time Bossy did this. We probably gave way too much away already but here it goes…..

Islanders’ Mike Bossy scored the 39th (and final) hat trick of his NHL career, in a 6-5 win over the Blackhawks at Chicago. It was also the 100th hat trick in Islanders’ history.
