This Day In Hockey History (2/11)

As Winter tries feebly to return, we have yet another moment for today.  There is a certain calmness for the masses.   Yet there is not rest for us.  It is hockey time as always and on “This Day”, there was a moment found that was truly worthy of inclusion.  So without further adieu, we have the video first and then the gem.

 

 

February 11, 1990


Mario Lemieux scored a goal to extend his point scoring streak to 46 straight games as the Penguins won 4-1, at Philadelphia. Rookie Mark Recchi had a goal and two assists in the game.

Steve Shutt…..

February 11, 1982


Montreal’s Steve Shutt scored his 350th NHL goal, the game winner in the Canadiens’ 2,000th all-time win, 4-2 over Pittsburgh. Shutt became the 8th player in franchise history to reach the 350 goal mark.
