This Day In Hockey History (12/1)

Well it is time to welcome in December with yet another moment from yesteryear. Hockey just keeps moving as always.  However, with the late night news that Randy Carlyle was fired and replaced by former Washington Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau definitely caught more than a few people off guard.  Today’s moment is from 1989 and I did not think this was possible in one game but apparently it was as the New York Rangers must have really ticked off the officiating for this one.  Here is the video and then the moment as always….

 

 

December 01, 1989


New York Rangers had three apparent goals disallowed by referee Rob Schick, but still managed a 4-3 win at Vancouver.

January 21, 1989


Mario Lemieux scored two goals and added five assists as the Penguins beat the Oilers at Edmonton, 7-4.

Marian Stastny scored his third career hat trick and added two assists, and his brother Anton had two goals and three assists as the Quebec Nordiques won 8-4 against the visiting Hartford Whalers.

December 01, 1985


Craig MacTavish scored 3 straight goals within a span of 6:38 during the 2nd period (his first career hat trick) and added an assist as the Oilers beat Calgary 5-3, to extend their home undefeated streak against the Flames to 16 games (12-0-4).
