This Day In Hockey History (11/15)

Buffalo has had some really interesting history but today’s gem tops most of those great memories to be honest because not just one milestone occurred but two.  Sure it was just another regular season game and that is understandable.  However, what happened was pretty awesome in scope.  Think about this as 24 years ago today, Doug Smith helped do something that was definitely on a personal and organization level.  Here is a little video then the moment….

 

 

 

November 15, 1987


Doug Smith scored his 100th career NHL goal, and it was also the 5,000th goal in Sabres’ history in a 5-4 win over Toronto, at the Aud. To add more, the goal was the game winner as well.

This Day In Hockey History (11/15)

The routine is sort of back and today we will find a new moment to grace this page.  Today we spotlight the Isles maybe because they crave the press.  Seriously, it is a solid moment and it happened 27 years ago today.

November 15, 1983


New York’s Mike Bossy scored his 27th career hat trick, and added two assists to lead the Islanders to a 6-4 win over the visiting Hartford Whalers.
