What in the Tom Fergus is going on here?  Well this moment is just 34 years old today but happened on an opening night which does add some significance.

 

 

October 09, 1986


Tom Fergus scored his second career hat trick (and his first with Toronto) and added two assists in the Maple Leafs’ 7-4 opening night win over the visiting Montreal Canadiens.

Bill Barber….

October 09, 1983


Tim Kerr and Bill Barber scored in the first :40 of the game to lead the Flyers to a 7-1 win over the Penguins, in Philadelphia. Oh by the way, Barber also scored his 400th goal becoming only the 19th player to do so at the time.
