Today we found a total oddball stat that just reeks extreme craziness. It is hard to believe a team could lose a game after something like this but there was the 1974-75 Washington Capitals. This is just one of their many stories of the worst season in the history of the National Hockey League. Here is the moment from 37 years ago today.

Washington’s Michel Belhumeur faced two penalty shots — and made two saves (against the Black Hawks Jim Pappin & Stan Mikita). Despite his two saves, the Capitals lost 3-2 at Chicago.
