Well what do you know, we went 3-0 on a light and easy night. Sure we lucked out considerably but that is okay. Now that we are at 71-16, we can unearth where some of the “inside info” comes from that we use. The cold reality is this inside info is aspects that are extremely commonplace.
QUESTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN ASKED
1. What the **** makes you an expert?
Well honestly the bleep may have been thrown in there for effect but since it has been asked, here it goes. Our success rate the last 3 years has been consistently over 60% and at the end of last year we nearly went over the 70% mark. This season to start, we have been hovering around 75 to 80% which is an insane number. Realistically no one expects that to continue but it is a testament to the pulse of the NHL that we closely follow.
There are many people who help us out. Our listeners have been huge in feeding us information about who is going to start or be benched, who is injured, etc. Also twitter probably has been the single biggest aid. News travels at light speed and how you interpret it is almost how you will do on a given night. When you follow a sport long enough, you notice trends that others do not. Does that make you fullproof? No it does not at all. There have been a couple nights when I went in thinking I was going to hit everything in sight and it just came up all duds. The nature of the beast is knowing when to step back and when to go full throttle. So far, we have been very good on that.
2. So where does your information come from?
This one is easy. It comes from mostly you, the fans, twitter, facebook, and many other social networking sites. But it also comes from many reputable betting sites and even some hockey and fantasy hockey sites as well. You say fantasy hockey? Are you crazy? Yes as hard as it is to believe, fantasy hockey sometimes holds the key to making a pick. Looking at teams and how some of their players stack up besides records gives a bettor ideas on how a game could go. They still have to play the game however.
So we will check on sites like fantasyhockey.com quite a bit. Of course thanks to betus, you can check our show page for today’s nhl lines and odds right HERE.
3. Last one for today….what do you expect in November?
Honestly for teams that normally start kicking it in gear to do so. Vancouver has barely covered if at all when Roberto Luongo is in net and the same can be said for Martin Brodeur. Expect that to start changing as the month goes on. The San Jose’s of the world will start to get it together as well. The prolonged slumps you see will not get much longer or will it in New Jersey? People do forget New Jersey started out 3-7-1 in 2007 before turning it around and finishing very strong. 2-6-1 is alarming but not the end of the world.
More trends are starting to develop and we will reveal some of them next Tuesday on this post. Now to those betting lines.
