Well slowly but surely the season is winding down. Okay so what does that mean for you, the reader? Honestly, it just means some not so subtle changes that everyone will get used to in time. Now let’s remember a list of key dates in the summer for the hockey fan.
DATES TO REMEMBER:
- June 11th: If it goes 7, this is when the season will end.
- June 23rd: NHL Awards in Las Vegas.
- June 25th-26th: The NHL Draft in Los Angeles (Staples Center)
- July 1st: Free Agent Frenzy Begins
- Late July – Mid August: Arbitration (official dates coming)
- Mid September: Training camps and pre-season
- Oct 7th: Opening of the 2010-11 NHL season
Please take note hockey fans. Inch by inch we will be planning our hockey coverage around the first big three events then taking a much due break at some point in the summer. The NHL Awards obviously we will have a live show that Wednesday Night and probably sneak a few calls in from some of the people we know that are there. The same willl go for our show on the 27th as we recap the draft.
That all sets up our doubleheader…a Wednesday Night June 30th UFA preview followed by a July 1st Frenzy blowout! There will be blogs galore on all these things and more. Just take a look up on the left side of the blog in our Weekly Column section. Also there will be some humor filled posts as always combined with our usual fantasy primers. We will be tossing bombs as we head content for Inside Hockey’s new Fantasy Hockey division coming soon.
So strap on in and hitch a ride with us. We will get you past that long off season and into the regular season before you can say Zarley Zalapski.
And just think, tomorrow we will set those rumor mongerers in their place on the podcast. They have now been warned!
Sincerely,
Chris Wassel
