Thanks again Ryan. I wonder which Sarich hit was worse. Time for some more breakfast……
The Morning After:
Yesterday’s scores:
Bruins 3, Capitals 1
Flames 1, Predators 0 (OT)
Wild 6, Canucks 2
Hurricanes 5, Sharks 2
Predictions record: 1-3
My 3 stars of the night:
1. Miikka Kiprusoff, CGY (34 Saves, Shutout)… ‘Kipper’ silenced a solid Predators team and made some clutch saves at key times.
2. Chad LaRose, CAR (1 Goal, 2 Assists)
3. Milan Lucic, BOS (1 Goal, 1 Assist)
Close but no cigar: M. Zidlicky, MIN; T. Thomas, BOS; C. Ward, CAR
Quick-hit Observations:
– I guess the Wild responded to their bag skate from Sunday, huh? Their 6-2 win over division rival Vancouver should be a big boost for that club!
– Tim Thomas seems to be back to his 2008/09 form. 35 saves against a high-powered Caps team is pretty impressive. He’s 3-0 now with a 0.67 goals-against average. Tuukka who?

Tonight’s Slate:

Ducks @ Blue Jackets, 7:00
Canucks @ Blackhawks, 9:00
Hurricanes @ Kings, 10:30
Games of the Night:
Buffalo Sabres (1-4-1) @ Atlanta Thrashers (3-2-0)
7:00 ET… TV: Local Networks
2009/10 Season Series: 2-0-2 Thrashers
Players to watch:
BUF- Derek Roy
Roy has 6 points thus far, and 26 points in 22 career games vs. Atlanta.
ATL- Dustin Byfuglien
‘Big Buff’ has 3 points in the last two wins, also showing his physicality on the back end.
Projected Goaltenders:
BUF- Ryan Miller (2010/11 stats: 1-3-1, 2.62 GAA)
ATL- Chris Mason (2010/11 stats: 3-2-0, 3.00 GAA)
Injury Report:
BUF- Jason Pominville (concussion, out), Shaone Morrisonn (groin, doubtful)
ATL- Zach Bogosian (shoulder, questionable), Ondrej Pavelec (concussion, out)
Game Thoughts:
The Thrashers and Sabres meet in what should be a sneaky-good game. Atlanta comes in with momentum after two big wins out west, while the Sabres are already in desperation mode. Even though Buffalo has struggled in Atlanta in recent years, I think they’ll be going all out tonight. Also, the Thrashers could be prone for a letdown.
Prediction: Sabres 2, Thrashers 1 (SO)
