Now for the update….
I will not be a popular person for this though many Ranger fans would probably agree with me. Wade Redden should have retired after his mother died. Look I know it is cold to say and hindsight is 20/20 but the passion he had has long gone. He may try hard but by trying harder he seems to only hurt his team more. It is sad to see because Wade is not a bad guy. However, the glaring mistakes on the ice he has made are enough for a 5:00 video on YouTube.
Eventually Redden will be demoted to the AHL as he should at this point. He is almost useless on the Rangers and the Rangers need the room for younger talent who is not afraid to make mistakes every time they touch the ice. It is a sad thing to see a player who was once full of talent go to pieces over once incident. In his defense, I will say this one thing. I lost my father in a very abrupt manner. I know it has affected me but not to this extent.
So to every Ranger fan out there who has put up with this albatross of a contract, take heart. Glen Sather has to demote this guy come training camp for not only the sake of the Rangers and their fans but Wade Redden himself. Because after all, Wade Redden may end up on Angie’s List next. Just a thought.
