Breaking News on Ondrej Pavelec

Ondrej Pavelec has collapsed in the first period of tonight’s Capitals-Thrashers game.  Check twitter as well as here for more updates.  The delay has been about 6-8 minutes and it does appear his eyes are open.  Let’s make that clear.  This is not a life or death situation and let’s hope for the best.

Just for an update at 8:30pm ET….Pavelec is at a local hospital undergoing tests.  He was unconscious for about ten minutes or so but again his eyes were open as he left the ice.  There will be further comment later and really all that can be done is just hope it is nothing major at all.  More to come.  First video…hat tip to The Hockey Zen and YouTube.

Thanks to ThePistonsFan for this.

Reports as of 9:30pm ET suggest that Ondrej Pavelec’s vital signs are now normal.  What exactly happened is still not known.

Sincerely,

Chris Wassel
