A Bit More On Sports Betting

As previously mentioned, the blog will be taking more of a turn into the fantasy hockey and sports betting realm this season.  This is the first of many posts on some of the possibilities as far as hockey betting.  First off, we would like to thank a new partner in BetUS.com for their foray into hockey odds of all sorts this upcoming year.

Here is their mission statement:

After a three-month hiatus, NHL is back at the forefront of hockey betting at BetUS Sportsbook.

The 2010 NHL preseason warm-up now a week old, hockey fans have had a chance to preview various clubs and its players.

At BetUS Sportsbook, hockey fans can sharpen their skills by betting on the preseason games or try their hand at handicapping the various hockey futures on offer – from futures on the various Divisions to Divisional forecasts, Eastern and Western Conference odds and Conference finals odds to Stanley Cup champion predictions, the choices are endless.

The Chicago Blackhawks enter this season as the defending champions but their title defence campaign looms large and the road to the finals long and tricky.

It won’t be easy for the Blackhawks with several standout clubs within their Division and Conference, alone, determined to derail them. Never mind the other Divisional threats.

Indeed, the betting on the 2010 NHL season is certain to be exciting and before all is said and done there will be upsets, surprises and loads of thrills.

The puck doesn’t stop with the NHL. Looking for an international flavour to your hockey betting thrills, BetUS Sportsbook takes action on several worldwide leagues, including the Czech Republic Extraliga, the German DEL, Norway Get Ligaen and much, much more.

So seriously if you are in the market and want to drop some coin on teams, leagues, etc…what are you waiting for?  Also, this year BetUS has tabbed the Atlantic Division as their “group of death”.  BetUS has tenatively picked Pittsburgh to win the division with New Jersey finishing an extremely close second.  Now with Jordan Staal, potentially out until the holidays, how much does that change things?  Well according to some, that tips the division in New Jersey’s favor.

The Eastern Conference favorites include Pittsburgh, Washington, and Philadelphia.  Do not take a flyer on Boston as of right now.  Tampa Bay is a pick to stay far away from as their defense is still below average.  New Jersey is a bit more physical and that could bode well but should not be considered amongst the favorites yet.  Keep in mind that a lot of odds now get thrown out the window come playoff time.  Remember how far Washington and Pittsburgh got last year?  Yes I know everyone does.

It is going to be a fun hockey betting season sports fans.  Get in on it while you can.  This year we will be picking with spreads to increase the difficulty as well.  Can we continue our 65% winning clip ATS style?  I do not know that answer but it will be fun to try.  Pick The Winner will be back in just a week.  Until then, get in on the action!

Sincerely,

Chris Wassel
