When we look back at today’s moment, there will still be a place for several fandoms.  It just seemed that obvious.  So sixteen years ago the Nord became something completely different.  One never knows what to expect at any time, or junctire.  Here is first the video and then the moment.  Enjoy.

The Quebec Nordiques’ franchise announced that the team’s official new name would be the “Colorado Avalanche”.

Today’s moment focuses on a guy who had a very short stint with one team and now has had the last laugh or three.  Here it goes.

 

 

August 10, 1987


New York Rangers signed free agent Peter Laviolette. Laviolette played 12 NHL games with the Rangers and went scoreless, then resurfaced 12 years later as the head coach of the New York Islanders.
