This Day In Hockey History (7/5)

Apparently July 5th is a very light day in hockey history.  Today we have one from the New York Islanders and a Coach being named 16 years ago on this day.  Talk about going from the frying pan into a huge torrent of fire.  A coach should always be one who knows how to motivate his players.  I do not think this guy ever used a shoe again.
