This Day In Hockey History (7/28)

Well this one has to move fast ladies and gentlemen.  Picture it like a fleeting moment that just goes even faster than expected.  Today we pay a tribute to a man who retired 13 years ago today.  He was a pioneer and no that is not stuff of legend. This is a person who went from hockey player to WADA Athletic Commissioner.  Now to the video and moment for this day.

 

 

July 28, 1998


Veteran defenceman Vyacheslav Fetisov, one of the first Soviet stars to play in the NHL announced his retirement. Fetisov said he would return to the New Jersey Devils, as an assistant coach.
