This Day In Hockey History (7/25)

Well the moments get more and more scarce this time of year.  However we will wish a Happy Birthday today to a guy well known in NHL circles.  He turns 47 so give him a nice round of applause and raise your drinking glass as well.  Just watch out for that stick because it flies quickly.

 

 

July 25, 1964

Former NHL forward Tony Granato born in Downers Grove, Illinois. Granato played in the NHL 1988-89 thru 2000-01 with the New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks.

The thunder is violent and loud but we will stay here until the power goes out or the winds get us…one or the other.  Today’s moment happened 22 years ago.  These seem to never get old for whatever reason.

 

 

July 25, 1988

Philadelphia Flyers traded Greg Smyth to the Quebec Nordiques, along with a 3rd round draft pick in 1989, in exchange for Terry Carkner.
