This Day In Hockey History (7/13)

It is not easy this time of year but we still do get moments pouring in, even if at times they are at a trickle.  Today we say Happy Birthday to a guy that really gutted a career out when he could have just as easily walked away.

 

 

July 13, 1963


Former NHL forward Bobby Carpenter born in Beverly, Mass. Carpenter played in the NHL 1981-82 thru 1998-99 with Washington, the New York Rangers, Los Angeles, Boston and New Jersey.

This Day In Hockey History (7/13)

Many people forget that this guy actually worked in Detroit.  Today’s moment centers on what happened just 20 short years ago.  The man with the loveable lisp gets his much deserved moment of sorts.  Brian Burke did not approve of this post.

Detroit Red Wings hired Bryan Murray as their new GM (replacing Jim Devellano) and head coach (replacing Jacques Demers).
