This Day In Hockey History (7/12)

We have said many times that this is the part where it all goes south as far as moments.  Today’s one just proves it with a big resounding exclamation point.  Here we go.

 

 

July 12, 2000

New York Rangers named Ron Low as their new head coach, along with Ted Green and Walt Kyle as his assistants.

As the hot days drag onward, there are still moments and we will put our unique twist on them.  Time to see what is cooking for today and not just what is in my oven.  The moment today happened just six years ago and maybe it was not quite the stopgap Devil fans were hoping for.

New Jersey Devils signed free agent defenseman Richard Matvichuk, who had been with the Dallas Stars.

Okay let’s see what is on the grill for This Day In Hockey History today. I never quite know with these things….so bear with me if it comes out a little hot and heavy.

Jim Devellano was named General Manager of the Detroit Red Wings, replacing Jimmy Skinner.
