This Day In Hockey History (7/1)

Well we are halfway into 2011 already.  That seemed quick.  Today’s moment was shocking at the time but the fallout was more surprising to say the least.  A good coach stepped away and the stories swirled and swirled.  Here is that moment from 14 years ago today.

 

 

July 01, 1997


Buffalo Sabres announced that head coach Ted Nolan would not return for the 1997-98 NHL season. No replacement was named.
