This Day In Hockey History (10/26)

Today we go to Buffalo for a guy who was the most unorthodox goalie in the last 25 years, maybe ever.  However, he sure could steal games and played at an unbelievable level for so long.  It also helps that he was a first to do the following below which happened 15 years ago today.  As always, we found a file video and then our moment from the archives…..

 

 

October 26, 1996


Buffalo’s Dominik Hasek picked up his 100th career NHL victory in a 6-3 win over the visiting Hartford Whalers. Hasek became the first European-trained goaltender to win 100 games.

This Day In Hockey History (10/26)

Your first is always a great memory and especially when its a first shutout.  This one happened 36 years ago today.  We call it an oldie but goodie.

 

 

October 26, 1974


Buffalo’s Gary Bromley recorded his first NHL shutout to lead the Sabres to a 2-0 win over the Blues at St. Louis. Rick Dudley scored both goals, and rookie Peter McNab and Brian Spencer each had two assists.

What Mr. Crisp does now….

October 26, 1997


Tampa Bay Lightning fired head coach Terry Crisp, who had been the only coach the team’s six year history. Assistant Rick Paterson was named as the interim replacement. Paterson lost his first game that night, 3-1 to the visiting L.A. Kings.
