Monday Ice Water Cooler

BallHype: hype it up!

The hard reality of no games yesterday really made some go nuts. But those 15 games Saturday Night were very sweet as it only happens twice more this year. Well tonight there are more games on and a big one in New Jersey as the Devils try to rebound from a clunker and play yes the New York Rangers of course. Talk about going from the heat to the raging inferno. Ironically that is the spotlight game for most everyone as there are only two games on tonight. Columbus and Vancouver play the late night affair from the left coast.

Then there was last night on The Program. We had Brian David Gallof from hockeyindependent.com on with us late….yes 9:30 is late well on a Sunday Night. What started out as an interview about the Islanders quickly turned into a chat about blogger ethics and responsibility plus reputation. An excellent interview that you can catch either on BTR, ITunes, Windows Media Player or just about any platform you can think of these days but go listen to it.

The nice part is we keep rolling on Wednesday and also will increase our fantasy focus as the season goes on. Yes last night we deadpanned ESPN for their three day fantasy week. Who does that anymore? Most leagues go with a long first week and basically a lot of people are scratching their heads who lost this week in H2H’s going why would anyone do a league like this? Just chalk it up and move on is the best way to go about it.

Today we get ready for the game that may shape the Devils season two games in and am curious to see how Roberto Luongo plays tonight at home. It is weird that two of the best goalies in the game already face “important” contests. Though I still chuckle when a commentator says this guy is on pace to break Wayne Gretzky’s scoring record. Its a bit early in the season and do you think anyone is going to break 200 points in this day and age? I do not think so. Some things should not even be joked about on air.

With that MNF thing tonight games will pick up the rest of the week. By late in the week even the four teams who went “vacationing” in Europe will get their chance to join in. Surely news will always break and we will be here to try and patch it up as best as we can before it breaks again. Any suggestions or comments…just place them here or send them to stevens8204@gmail.com and we will try to get to them QUICK! Try to get thru Monday…everyone understands it is tough.

Sincerely,

Chris Wassel
