KHL Salutes Top Players from Week 2
Jagr Among Weekly Honorees
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) recognizes the top goalie, defender, forward and rookie for the past week. The weekly selections are chosen by the KHL Statistics and Information Bureau and based upon both statistical results and overall performance.
Week 2 honorees are:
- Best goalkeeper: Ilya Proskuryakov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk). Proskurvakov recorded three wins last week, including two shut-outs and a scoreless streak of 175 minutes and 19 seconds. His save percentage in the three victories was 98.7.
- Best defender: Alexander Guskov (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl). Guskov had two assists and a +/- rating of +5.
- Best forward: Jaromir Jagr (Avangard Omsk). In three matches Jagr scored three goals, as well as recorded an assist and a +2 rating.
- Best rookie: Nikolai Belov (Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk). In two matches the rookie blue-liner tallied a goal and recorded a +3 rating, while averaging 15 minutes and five seconds of ice time.
