Shawn gives us the latest and best from a busy week 6 in the KHL……
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) recognizes the top goalie, defender, forward and rookie for the past week. The weekly selections are chosen by the KHL Statistics and Information Bureau and based upon both statistical results and overall performance.
Week 6 honorees are:
- Best goalkeeper: George Gelashvili (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl). Gelashvili recorded two wins last week, with a save percentage of 96.7 percent and a 1.00 goals against average.
- Best defender: Denis Denisov (Dynamo Moscow). Denisov had two goals and an assist last week in Dynamo’s two wins. He also posted a +/- rating of +1.
- Best forward: Anton Kur’yanov ( Avanguard Omsk). In three games, Kur’yanov scored three goals and had two assists, along with a +5 rating.
- Best rookie: Sergey Plotnikov (Amur Khabarovsk). In three games, Plotnikov netted one goal and notched an assist, along with a +/- rating of +1.
