KHL News: Tops From Week 3

KHL Salutes Top Players from Week 3

The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) recognizes the top goalie, defender, forward and rookie for the past week. The weekly selections are chosen by the KHL Statistics and Information Bureau and based upon both statistical results and overall performance.

Week 3 honorees are:

  • Best goalkeeper: Vadim Tarasov (Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk). He registered two wins in three games, while posting a 1.32 GAA, along with a 96% save percentage.
  • Best defender: Oleg Tverdovsky (Salavat Yulaev Ufa). In three games the blue liner scored two goals and had four assists, to go along with a +/- rating of +4.
  • Best forward: Alexander Suglobov (CSKA Moscow). The Red Army forward scored three goals in three matches, including one game winner, as well as added three assists and a +1 rating for the week.
  • Best rookie: Sergei Belokon (Vityaz Chekov). In three games, the rookie forward scored one goal and played an average of 14 minutes and 20 seconds per game.
