Sometimes there comes a point when you realize things get taken too seriously. It does not matter what venue of life it is…but that reality can be a good thing. Most leagues are on Week 6 and a few are on Week 7. The time has come to do the one thing that needs to be done every so often when it seems like we are in the bowels of another fantasy hockey season.
It is time to EXHALE! Yes it is time to breathe, relax, and just take a good amount of air in and blow out all the bad air. So far I have been doing a pretty good job of keeping level headed in all of my leagues. Some people forget to relax and they get so head over heels into their leagues that they forget to take stock of what they have in each league. This is a perfect week (especially with the light schedule today) to take a look at what each of your teams has going well for it and what is not going well.
So go into each of your leagues today or tomorrow. Take a look at all the positives and negatives and weigh them equally. Go into your waiver wires and maybe even throw out a trade offer to gauge interest. If you are not doing so well in a league…do not worry. There are others in the same boat as you. Maybe its injuries, maybe bad luck, or maybe you just haven’t quite paid attention to the league. It could be a combination of the three.
This is one of those times to really exhale and take a deeper examination. Christmas week then the Olympics will be other times to do the same. The key is to really assess the strengths and weaknesses. If you have any questions…ask someone not in the league. Maybe there is something you are missing or perhaps overlooked. Never be afraid to ask because in fantasy hockey…those that do not ask often screw themselves in the end.
Next week we will attempt to take a look at who is coming and going off the Injured Reserve list. We may even give a diagnosis or two so stay tuned…the fantasy hockey season is just starting to heat up even more.
Sincerely,
