Flying Turkeys again!!!!!!
BallHype: hype it up!

The world’s quickest edition of The Three Turkeys today. Why? Because this one is real simple. We are going to show you three teams who you want to avoid in certain situations. Most of you may know anyway but we want to consider you warned that if you have players on these teams and this situation hits…to run far far away. Yes its that bad ladies and gentlemen.

Our Three Turkey Teams:

Anaheim Ducks — Why? Its not just the 1-5 record or the 654000 power play chances they give up. No its just the fact that they play godawful at home and gave up 6 goals to the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs. Yes I know the Leafs are playing better but I mean come on!

Better yet, has anyone seen Bobby Ryan? His early season slump along with awful discipline has just decimated this team. The fact that they give up nearly 35 shots a game does not help either. No one is really getting “their points” either so there is cause for some general concern. Could Carlyle be the fall guy? Possibly if things continue as they are now.

New Jersey Devils — Another team that is just horrific at home. Throw out the 2-0 win against Carolina where they needed a fluke goal and an empty netter and this team just STINKS at the “friendly confines”. The sad part is they are 5-0 on the road giving up nearly a goal less per game away from home. That 4-1 loss to Buffalo last night only illustrated one thing. Patrik Elias needs to come back and soon.

Also, the team has to know its limitations. They are not going to be able to counterattack all of the time. They do not have the “guns” right now to do so. A little cautiousness would not hurt this team at the moment. Better technique forechecking and backchecking would be paramount too. Hell just getting them to count at home would be a major achievement. Too many men on the ice penalties should not happen at home and the Devils had another one last night. OUCH! Get it together or its going to be a LONG LONG season.

Minnesota Wild — 26 goals in 12 games is not really good. Worse is when you have guys that are a -10 or greater already this early in the year. Havlat, Burns, etc….you know who you are. A team that played conservative cannot be expected to play a faster type of game when they lost their best player to free agency (yes the Gaborik). But the abysmal part in all of this is the 0-8 road record and believe me the Wild have lost them in every conceivable way but all in regulation.

The simple fix is this team just needs to play more disciplined like they used to on the road and take less penalties. Its really that easy. Maybe a little common sense can go a long way because right now no one wants these players on their fantasy team when they keep performing like this. The team affects the players largely and especially in this case.

Next week we will fire up our wrath on the players again. Until then, the turkeys have issued warnings and they are coming. Beware everyone!!!!!
