Fantasy Hockey 101: That snowed in feeling…

BallHype: hype it up!

It can feel like the weight of the fantasy world is on your shoulders. Your team has not won in weeks and your once invincible team has sprung more holes than swiss cheese. Worse, you know you are heading into the meat of your schedule. Or you are the team that kind of slopped around for a bit and now find your way near the bottom because of injuries and bad luck. Either way, every fantasy owner has gone thru this at some point.

Like I have said this is the week to really make a move because most fantasy owners are too busy worrying about holiday plans to really focus in on their fantasy teams. Hell even the experts are guilty of this from time to time. That is just how life is. This is just a point that we like to keep drilling into people about because it really is that important.

Also I wanted to point out the simple fact that the schedule is tilted obviously this week because of no games on Christmas Day. Here is the game breakdown by day for this fantasy week.

  • Monday (11)
  • Tuesday (3)
  • Wednesday (12)
  • Thursday (0)
  • Friday (0)
  • Saturday (13)
  • Sunday (6)

It is indeed a rare week. How often until late in the season do you see six games on a Sunday? This will be a key as people come out of the post Christmas hangover that always occurs. Mark Thursday and Friday as important days to load up on your calendar so that your fantasy team is ready for the weekend while others may be napping.

Next week we are going to reveal our Best and Worst of 2009. It may not be out next Monday but it will pop up sometime next week. Keep an eye out for those potential waiver steals and see you then.

Sincerely,
