About Last Night…Real Turning Points

BallHype: hype it up!

Everyone has shown the Semin highlight video and we shall too but with a bit of a twist.

Semin highlight reel goal????

Well how about something that actually was a turning point……

Parros Vs. Scott

Now this was an actual turning point. The Wild after this turned a 3-0 third period deficit into a 4-3 OT win. As a matter of fact…the Wild outshot the Ducks 14-1 after that fight. Shots were even at 18 up to that point. Meanwhile Mr. Semin can have his pretty goal but ultimately the Capitals lost in overtime. You would think that George Parros would have learned his lesson from Daniel Carcillo (in last year’s playoffs) but no he fought because his mustache needs extended television time. Okay he just fought.

More from it from Michael Russo:

With the Wild somehow lacking any zip all night, 6-8 John Scott got things started early in the third by dropping the gloves with experienced fighter George Parros. Scott floored Parros with an uppercut, and the crowd loved it and his teammates got a jolt from it.

That is a real turning point and a nice way for Coach Todd Richards to get a first win. Also it illustrates the clear point between what is a very nice individual highlight as opposed to what really can spark a team. The latter is what NOW wins Stanley Cup Championships. Hopefully a lesson learned for Philadelphia and Anaheim going forward.
