2008/09 Recap-
Record:
36-35-11, 83 pts.
Playoffs: None

Key Additions: Karlis Skrastins, Alex Auld, Jeff Woywitka
Key Subtractions: Sergei Zubov, Darryl Sydor, Brendan Morrison, Joel Lundqvist, Mark Parrish

X-Factor: Brad Richards
Richards must stay healthy and play to his ability.
Breakout player: Matt Niskanen
If no one else steps up on the back end, Niskanen could be in for a great year.
Prospect to watch: Jamie Benn
The 5th-rounder in 2007 has raised a lot of eyebrows, and could play as early as this season.
On the hot seat: Marty Turco
After last year’s debacle, this is a do or die season for Turco.

Fantasy Corner-
Buy: Brad Richards
Sell: Jere Lehtinen
Sleeper: James Neal

Bold Prediction: Captain Brendan Morrow will bounce back from his ACL injury to lead the Stars in points.

Team Overview: The Stars couldn’t build off a conference final appearance in 07/08 because of costly injuries and one big distraction (Avery). If everyone can remain healthy, they could be a dangerous team under new coach Marc Crawford. But Crawford hasn’t had much success at his recent stops, and there are numerous question marks on the blue line. It’s Marty Turco’s contract year, and it’s time for him to play like he wants some serious dough.

Current 09/10 Prediction-
3rd in Pacific Division
