Your Slot Here…

BallHype: hype it up!

Time for another edition of Your Slot Here. With the holidays upon us, it is a nice thing to take a look at two forums that I am fond of. One of course is The NHL Arena and the other is The Faceoff Circle. First up, we will take a quick look at The NHL Arena.

The NHL Arena was founded by William Wisson a hair over two years ago. It has already undergone one move from Proboards to Invision Boards. With a solid base nearing 2500…The NHL Arena has made some significant moves upward from its humble beginnings. You think of all the active members that it boasts including several very noticeable bloggers who have joined up. With prediction contests and more, the forum has everything you need as a hockey fan.

There is also straight talk and debate that is unique for most larger forums. Surely there are some disagreements but that is life folks. Some bigger contests of note include The Arena Beauty Pageant and of course The Battle Of The Blogosphere. They boast a huge following from the Atlantic Division which at times buoys the forum but with an increasing base from other teams, there is progress being made at the very least.

Surely, it is a forum that does an excellent job with what it has. Now of course there is much more work to do for a forum that has bigger aspirations but things have to be tightened up first I am sure. Then who knows…the sky is the limit I suppose. But what if you want a smaller, more family like place? Not everyone wants the heavy or middleweight forums.

Sometimes a smaller forum really is that much more intimate. The Faceoff Circle is that kind of place. With close to 400 members and a passionate core, it brings a unique passion to the plate. Though still very small, The FOC tries its best to bring you the latest with a unique group of mods and more. The closeness of the group does not hurt as for a smaller forum, it is essential to be close-knit.

There are debates and disagreements because what forum would not have them? But really, if you just want to talk hockey in a more family-like surrounding, The FOC is for you. The game day threads are all in one place for easy viewing and the fans are quite passionate for them. If you have a little time and want to check out a nice quaint forum that has some bigger aspirations…..this is the place for you.

It really does come down to preference but just for the record, I am a member of both forums and do enjoy each one for different reasons. Hopefully you go and check out both today and see what they have to offer. Have a great weekend everyone!!!
