There have been many amazing duos out there. It’s just not everyday that two identical twins end up on the same line for the same team in a professional sports league.
Oh yeah, they’re pretty good too. Finally obtaining NHL Center Ice, I was able to watch our beloved Canucks all the way from South Florida, and was entranced by the communication of Daniel and Henrik Sedin. And in a playoff style tilt, the Canucks were able to defeat the Wild 3-2 in overtime.
Everybody knows that the Sedins are twins, but not everybody knows that they were drafted number two and three overall in the same draft. It’s not easy to get two of the top three picks and in any draft, and the twins were clearly the result of an excellent GM job by Brian Burke. The two do seem to possess some sort of ESP on the ice. The announcers last night continuously commented on how they seem to “share a brain.” It did take a little while, but the drafting of the twins is definitely paying off in the long run.
Every point counts in the Northwest Division, and are especially mammoth in intra-division battles. The Canucks got two big ones in Minnesota last night, and head into Chicago tomorrow, attempting to eclipse the 70 point mark. We can only hope the Canucks do not forget the embarrassment of being shutout by Patrick Lalime last week, and get off to a flying start. Something tells me the twins will have something to say about it.
