Well we are two games in to the 2nd half of the season, and it looks to be a good one. Things are starting to click, not counting that last minute loss to Philly yesterday. Trade talks are heating up for all teams, and all signs point to the Stanley Cup Playoffs making there way to BLUELAND!
Well the All-Star game was bad; it just makes great goaltenders look bad. But for the Thrashers part Marian Hossa got 4 assists in the game and the East still fell to the West 12-9. Don’t forget next year the All-Star game will be held right here in BLUELAND. Let’s hope by then they will take a cue from MLB and make it count and have which ever conference that wins have home field advantage in the Stanly Cup finals. I think that would make more people watch the game, hell it couldn’t hurt as viewer ship was down 74% from the last All-Star game in 2004.
The trade talks have started around the league and Atlanta is no different. With the Flyers in town yesterday it was said that Thrashers GM Don Waddell met with Flyers brass that made the trip and started to pound out a plan to get Peter Forsberg in a Thrashers uniform. Right now it looks like it’ll take a 1st round pick next year and either Braydon Coburn or Derek MacKenzie. This could very well work out good for both teams as they both end up with what they need.
Koyv, Hoss, Slava, Kari, and the rest of the Thrashers are ready for a playoff run whether any moves are made or not. As long as BLUELAND continues to show up night in and night out then there should be no problem going deep into the playoffs, and maybe just maybe hoist The Cup.
